IMPORTER/DISTRIBUTER
The importer/distributor's product range is extensive and includes medications, medical equipment and specialty over-the-counter consumer products. A varied customer-base ensures that the pharmaceutical needs of Zambia are served. The customers include public hospitals, private hospitals, chemists and other pharmaceutical companies. Their stringent standards and strict adherence to controls has allowed them to obtain the exclusive rights to distribute certain products and the company has a USD 12 million contract with the Ministry of Health of the Zambian Government renewed every 2 years. The company's distribution outlets are spread across Zambia’s largest cities.
MANUFACTURER
The pharmaceutical manufacturing company is the only fully integrated manufacturer in Zambia. The promoter's purpose is to ascertain the needs of customers and to deliver cost-effective high quality products. The strict regulatory and compliance requirements are firmly adhered to. Ethical practices are at the core of the production facility. The promoter aims to apply science and global resources to improve the health and wellbeing of every Zambian at each stage of life. Its range of products includes: essential drugs, over-the-counter consumer products, and life saving essential drugs.
Recently the Government has come up with a policy to purchase drugs locally in order to promote local manufacturing and create jobs. The ministry of Health has given orders to all the four Pharmaceuticals manufacturing companies to supply drugs to Medical Stores Limited.
The company has acquired a broad product portfolio covering analgesics, anti-ulcerants, anti-infectives, antibacterials, anti-emetics, antifungals, anti-helminthic, anti-hypertensives, anti-diabetics, anaesthetics, anti-malarials, anti-virals, vitamin and mineral preparations, and hospital disinfectants.
