The Company
The promoter is a Namibian registered company that focuses on the growing, processing, packaging and marketing of foods, both for human and animal consumption and for local and export markets. The company believes in innovation and sustainable development. The promoters are creating an ultramodern ecosystem that will allow innovation to spread across the country in the agricultural sector and especially in agro-processing. This business model will allow entrepreneurs to plug into the system and partner with ease, generate equitable income and eventually creating sustainable development.
The Project
The general idea is to establish a goat dairy processing plant as well as a supply network to feed into the large and growing global niche market for Whey as their primary product and cheese as their secondary product. The project enjoys a suitable climate for (dry and sunny) and also has access to cheap land, infrastructure, logistics, and a supportive local government. In this project, the promoters also propose to produce goat milk and further process it to Whey products and cream cheese for the local market. A ‘’farm to market concept’’ will be used aiming to capture the value chain: Breeding, raising, milking, processing, packaging and exporting.
The promoters will do everything locally, from primary production through to processing, packaging and shipment. This is a value-adding opportunity, with long-term and sustainable possibilities. The company will be tapping into the farming expertise, production knowledge and logistic capabilities being presented by the current prevailing situation in Namibia.
The promoters have undertaken an economic assessment of the potential prospects of the project with a 10 year cumulative projection, forecasting conservative linear growth based on the indications of an uptake of one farm with a capacity of 750 does, with an additional 2 milk production satellite farms, after the 5th year of operations. The promoter estimates a production of 33,000 kilograms of Whey powder and 66,000 kilograms of cheese with an annual revenue of N$ 21.7 Million at full capacity, both direct and indirect income and 40 new jobs created initially.
The entrepreneur
The entrepreneur has over 20 years extensive experience in developing, analysing, as well as reviewing delivery systems, in the business arena, public sector and in the Non-governmental Organisations’ set ups.
