The Promoter
The promoter is an energy company incorporated in the Republic of Ghana, licensed and permitted to sell independently produced electrical energy. The company is engaged in the production and sale of renewable energy. The promoter plans to build, commission, own and operate a 75MW nameplate capacity solar photovoltaic plant and obtained an initial approval to install a 20MW to feed directly into the distribution grid. The promoter has managed to secure the following documents for the project:
SITE
The promoters have allocated a 100 hectares (i.e. 250 acres) piece of land near the Ghanaian capital Accra,
for the project and a lease agreement has already been signed.
POWER PURCHASE AGREEMENT AND TARIFF
The Electricity Company of Ghana has signed a PPA with the promoters. The promoter will arrange and
facilitate a satisfactory due diligence also prepare an evacuation study
The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) published an indicative tariff for solar power 20.1 US cent/watt and for this project, the cedi rate still stands.
